Thursday, June 11 kicks off the 32nd Annual National Nursing Assistants Week (June 11-18, 2009). Nursing assistants, also known as nurse aides, direct care workers, caregivers, certified nursing assistants, geriatric aides, unlicensed assistive personnel, orderlies, home health aides, or hospital attendants, provide hands-on care and perform routine tasks under the supervision of nursing and medical staff.
